Sears Tower and a night walk through Checagou, the windy city

Today we visited the Sears Tower: here are some impressions seen from the top: 412 m!
Looking south-west.
Traffic!
Looking north-east. Downtown!

At the same night we went out to a sportsbar to grab some food. On the way back to our Palmer Hilton House hotel I shot this picture!

Chinatown. I expected an imressive quarter but it was only one street which was wort the name!Sears Tower seen from Chinatown!

The entrance to Chinatown.

The skyline seen from the streetcar station near Chinatown.Suze and I went shopping after we had dinner in Chinatown. We went by subway downtown and "missed" a station. I thought I was wise to go one station more but it wasn´t. Here at Clark/Division the stations were dirty and dark. A huge contrast to the station directly downtown.

The last morning in Chicago. I went again downtown to grab some food and explore the city. But compared to Toronto it is a city without character! Only a few small stores, shops and restaurants. No hotdogs sellers in the streets, no Little Italy, Indian or China Town, it´s a shame! Only the skyline is more impressive but this does not make a city a city with charakter.
Fireladders in a backyard!
Finally I saw the Chicago firefighters in action. The false alarm was in a building in front of our hotel. They were there with four fire trucks...

including the ladder! At the airport O´Hare there is an education corner for children. The equipment differs in some details from the equipment we use in Germany. But the functionality is the same I guess! I had to give him a hug... .. and to take this picture together with Suze!

The planes ad tobe freed from ice before take off!
